Life on the road is not just fun experiences and perfect Instagram pictures, it’s reality. And in 2018 reality, sexual harassment behavior is still a common practice among too many male figures who think they can do whatever they want to women and just get away with it.
This time it was our host and (unfortunately) this time the victim was my wife Danielle.
When the whole #metoo movement started gaining momentum, I didn’t find too much of an interest in it. I didn’t have teenage daughters or sisters, I was never the “predator” type , and it’s not something men talk about when they meet.
But this time, it hit close to home and I found myself personally taking care of a traumatized victim of such act, doing everything in my power to not let her blame herself, hate herself or fall into a deep depression over it.
This video captures the following day and how we chose to deal with it; talk about it, release it, focus on the present moment and celebrate life.
The previous generation, the baby-boomers, might be a lost cause, but I hope generation Y, generation Z and future generations, would discuss with their kids as soon as they reach puberty, what you’re allowed and aren’t allowed to do with other person’s body, what’s a legitimate courtship and what’s considered harassment, and last but not least, how gentle and delicate the human soul really is 🙏
